An introvert is not that mysterious anymore…
Introverts have always been regarded in the old days as anti-social and stuff that seems to be something straight out of the minds of people that clearly do not understand what they have been feeling and dealing with. But as time goes by, we are certainly getting to know them in a way that we didn’t back then. Introverts have now been a bit more expressive of what they feel, and this is rather helpful to us who are not introverts to understand them. Although not all have the same exact personalities, what we know about them are the general things that are of value whenever we try to speak and be friends with them. But in any other case, introverts are still best to be with fellow introverts, but that would be a thing that society cannot approve, and people still likes to communicate even when they are like vampires that would want to be in their rooms for the rest of the day. Well, we do know that even vampires go out at night.
We see a lot of images that describe introverts in a way that we will understand more, some of which are made to make fun, but not in an offensive way, but rather, to make everyone smile. But without introverts, we wouldn’t exactly be seeing the world as we see it today. Extroverts tend to be a little bit all over the place, and most of the time, they don’t see the little details that gives life to what they think is beautiful. But this does not apply to all. But despite that, introverts tend to observe and analyze the things around them, and even though most introverts have the same complex minds as any other extroverts, they would always want to just stay in their bubble and not talk about the little things that they deem unnecessary.
An introvert’s mind is something that is full of mysteries, and so are their hearts. They have always been a mystery, and they still are. They don’t like to share so much, and so wouldn’t want to take a lot of spotlight, but some would defy their fears and conquer it to make a change. And as an artist, Gemma Correll, author of The Worrier’s Guide to Life and a self-proclaimed introvert, sketched out the unique, varied terrain in a drawing called “A Map of the Introvert’s Heart” last year. The illustration resurfaced on Medium this week. It tells about the things that she personally like, and not the general things that all introverts love although most of what’s inside is probably agreed upon by most.
“[The drawing] was inspired by the Victorian ‘maps’ of women’s and men’s hearts, which are slightly sexist but beautiful depictions of what women and men [supposedly] love,” she explained to The Huffington Post Tuesday. “I thought about the things that I, as an introvert, appreciate and cherish the most and added them to my own map.”
